What’s the best holiday you’ve had with your children?

I’d have to say that our best holiday has been at Elveden Forest Center Parcs. It’s familiar, close to home and the kids can get stuck in as soon as we arrive. The setting is nice, trees and lakes are all around and no cars allowed so we can all cycle in safety.

Where do you want to go next?

I’d love to take my family to the Tyrol in the Austrian alps. When I was younger, my parents used to take me to a really picturesque village in the Ziller valley called Fugen, just a short drive from Innsbruck. The Austrians really know how to do hotels and the skiing is excellent for families and beginners.

What’s the one item you wouldn’t be without on a family holiday?

We never leave home without blankey and brown coat, our children’s comforters. We have been known to turn the car around and head home to retrieve them when forgotten. After that I would say you can never take too many pairs of pants for the kids!

Your best piece of advice for other Trunki Files readers:

I have no advice for other parents, I’ve barely travelled outside of the East of England with mine! Maybe that could be my advice. Always holiday close to home in case it all goes wrong!
